A. Meetings. Annual General Meeting for 20223 Financial year November 12, 2023 in Williams. (202324 held 17 November 2024 same venue) The Committee met 5 times in the financial year from July 1 2023 (July 15, November 12 (post AGM) March 11, July 15, and September 16) A combined Cultural Elders Reference Group and committee Planning Day/Workshop was held in January 2024. B. Newsletters Two newsletters were sent to members in 2024 C. Workshops, Camps and Collaborations. October 2023. Albany workshop featuring draft stories developed over the year. Copies of Wirrawoorliny distributed, Yongka Miak presented using power point display and Wirlo was read aloud. Camps to GPS important sites on Country March and April 2024 Family movie night of cultural films produced June 2024 Mamang story workshop June, 2024 Visit to Mamang site at Frenchman s Bay, and production of short film of members pronouncing key Noongar words on site June 2024 Exhibition of Wirlomin art works hosted by Albany Public Library at the Albany Town Hall June 2024 D. Albany Prison Wirlomin presented seven language and culture workshops at Albany Regional Prison. The sessions focused on cultural connection, identity, personal development, and empowerment for selected inmates. The program aims to help participants learn, appreciate and understand their Noongar culture, language and songs. It contributes strongly to their sense of belonging to family and to their connection to country. The program will continue into 2025. E. Australian Research Council project DemiKaditjin May: narrative, technology and Wirlomin moorditjabiny The Wirlomin website has been updated in part to support our stories, Noorn and Ngaawily Nop, These have been added to the NSW education syllabus. New audio versions have been recorded. Updates and revisions to the Members Only section are in development. Some Wirlomin Archive (Wirlomin footage, GPS sites, photos) is currently held on two harddrives. We have a digital map of many of our cultural and historical sites. The stories Wirrawoorliny, Yonga Miak and Wirlo are in preparation for publication along with a revised version of Mamang. We continued developing and learning our repertoire of songs.
