To cultivate performing arts in the Upper Hunter through inclusive and accessible education and performance programs in a variety of genres Enriching lives through performing arts To provide quality music and drama tuition to residents of the Upper Hunter To foster music as a form of social interaction, expression and creativity To enhance the cultural life of the local community The Upper Hunter Conservatorium of Music provides lessons, courses, ensembles and workshops, sharing the musical experience with thousands of students since inception. Lessons can be accessed across an area ranging from Murrurundi and Blandford in the north, to Nulkaba in the south and Merriwa in the west. Studios operate in Singleton and Muswellbrook, along with teaching at more than twenty schools across the district. Music pathways provided by the Conservatorium have enabled students to enjoy learning, performing and sharing music whether it is for their own personal benefit and interest, through to becoming professional musicians and teachers. Music is a great connector, it helps our mind, impacts how we feel it has an amazing, positive impact on humans in so many ways. Music can elevate, educate, make us laugh, cry, feel and everything in between. Music taps into emotion, creativity and innovation whilst growing confidence, empathy and cultural appreciation.
