The Uniting Church in Australian National Assembly is the national council of the UCA. The National Assembly has responsibility in matters of doctrine, worship, government and discipline, including the promotion of the Church s mission. In these areas, the National Assembly sets national policy and promotes the Church s mission in the world. It also establishes standards of theological training and standards for the reception of ministers from other communions and pursues the goal of the worldwide union of all Christ s church. Uniting Aboriginal Islander and Christian Congress The Congress has responsibility for overseeing the Church s life and mission with and for the Aboriginal and Islander people of Australia. In fulfilling this responsibility, Congress seeks to work with the Assembly, Synods and Presbyteries. It s responsibilities include but are not limited to; supporting the proclamation of the gospel, supporting the establishment of congregations, and taking action in relation to the needs and aspirations of Aboriginal and Islander people.
