The Rhodanthe Lipsett Indigenous Midwifery Charitable Fund

We provided financial scholarships to First Nations Midwives and Midwifery students to support their ongoing education. In 2024, the Fund awarded ten (10) Category A scholarships (including 1 part time) to First Nations Midwifery students and five (5) category B scholarships to practicing midwives participating in continuing educations activities. Initially, six (6) category A and five (5) category B scholarships were selected and announced on 5th May 2024, International Day of the Midwife. Following an extra $20,000 in support from the Canberra Mothercraft Society, four more Category A scholarships were made possible and were announced on 5th June 2024. All scholarships were paid in June 2024.
