With our approved building plans for a heritage tram museum thrown into disarray by State Government plans to construct an AFL football stadium and its associated road infrastructure on Macquarie Point, we have been working with the Macquarie Point Development Corporation (MPDC) to obtain an alternative site in the precinct. Negotiations with the MPDC have been very constructive and positive, and it is likely that we will obtain a superior site to that originally allocated, but commencement of construction of the museum could be delayed by some years because of the need for the stadium roadworks to be completed first.
