About Foundation For Australia's Most Endangered Species Limited

FAME identifies conservation projects that may be seen as insignificant by larger entities, comparatively smaller lesserknown projects that would not attract funding. These include feral management projects, innovative conservation initiatives, protection of species insitu, revegetation and protection of habitat and building robust populations behind fences with the longterm strategy of rewilding. FAME often sees the potential in such projects and provides financial support. FAME funds researchers, ecologists and environmentalists; partners with government entities (Federal and State Governments); notfor profits; supports landowners and, wherever possible, learns from our traditional owners. FAME s role is to provide financial, compliance, regulatory and conservation oversight on projects to allow our onground partners to focus on the task at hand Australian wildlife conservation without the added pressure of determining funding sources for onground activities. Often FAME s role is as a catalyst to direct more attention to a project, and in turn larger funding for the species and/or onground partner s work. All FAME s projects undertake a rigorous process prior to approval, overseen by our Conservation Committee. FAME has demonstrated time and time again in its 30year history, that properly resourced, planned programs (with short and longterm objectives) partnered with likeminded entities and individuals, can achieve much more than the sum of the individual parts. Each of the programs undertaken by FAME is managed with clear reporting acquittals that include achievable objectives and key results (OKRs). This enables transparency in how the funding is being utilised and in turn, its conservation impact. Each project is overseen by the CEO (with regular reporting and advice by the Conservation Committee) and all acquittals are approved by the Company s Conservation Committee and the FAME Board of Directors.
