The Bands contribution to culture is seen through our involvement in a range of community activities including: 1. Supporting local schools to ensure that students keen to play musical instruments can get the tutoring required, at no cost to themselves. 2. Frequent public performances, to help people gain an appreciation for the performing arts, and encouraging participation by joining the band. 3. Working with other musical groups, such as singers and choirs, in joint public performances. Two examples of these are our annual Christmas caroling and our performance at Carols by Candlelight. 4. Performances at public events such as Fairs and Carnivals, so that our members also get to see a wide variety of musical genres and performances, which helps improve their musical understanding.
