About Australian Vascular Biology Society Inc
The purpose of the Australian Vascular Biology Society is to foster communication, collaboration and education between scientists investigating the fundamental biology of the cells and components of the vascular (blood vessel) system, as it functions in health and disease. AVBS normally achieves this aim by holding an Annual Scientific Conference to allow students and senior researchers to share recent and novel information on their scientific discoveries in the fields of cardiovascular research and physiology. In 2024, we had our first independent facetoface national meeting, postCOVID, in Lorne, Victoria. We also sponsored a session at a premier international conference [International Vascular Biology Meeting (IVBM), Amsterdam] and financially supported a few of our highcalibre AVBS members to attend this meeting. Lastly, our society is supporting the hosting of the next IVBM meeting in Adelaide in 2026, and are eagerly assisting in preparations for this conference.
