Australian Railway Historical Society (w.a. Division) Incorporated

The Australian Railway Historical Society (WA Division) opened the Railway Museum in Bassendean and the SouthWest Rail and Heritage Centre in Boyanup regularly with a particular celebration making the 50th anniversary of opening of the Railway Museum. Both locations have also been available for group bookings and special guided tours. It has maintained a collection of large and small objects as well as an extensive Archives collection. Databases for museum and archives collections are updated at least monthly and the number of photos publicly accessible on line has increased. New exhibition display has been installed at the Railway Museum in order to improve the educational and heritage offering for visitors. We also acquired and preserved five heritage railway vehicles from a kindred body that was winding down.
