The AMC's activities and outcomes fulfil the purpose of the AMC to ensure standards of education, training and assessment of the medical profession protect and promote the health of the Australian community. The AMC works with external stakeholders including the Medical Board of Australia, colleges of specialist medical education, university faculties and programs delivering medical education, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and M ori educators and consumers, health practitioners, health services and hospital facilities, government (state, territory and commonwealth) medical students, medical interns, international medical graduates, community members and consumers to develop its processes and deliver best practice outcomes.
