*The Australian Diabetes Society (ADS) is the peak national medical and scientific body in Australia for diabetes and provides expert advice to other related organisations committed to supporting the person with diabetes and improving diabetes treatment, care and advocating on health policies related to all types of diabetes and its prevention. *The ADS aims to prevent diabetes and its complications, promotes collaboration with other key stakeholder organisations and is committed in strongly advocating for continued diabetes research funding. *The ADS strives excellence in delivering educational diabetes related programs in providing structured practical training courses/workshops for healthcare professionals and medical practitioners specialising in endocrinology and general medicine to enhance their knowledge and skills of diabetes management and prevention. *The ADS also delivers a series of educational webinars/livestream discussions to assist healthcare professionals on the management of diabetes and associated chronic complications. *The ADS hosts an Annual Scientific Meeting (Australasian Diabetes Congress) that enables opportunities for healthcare professionals with an interest in diabetes to present and disseminate the latest advances in research and clinical care of diabetes mellitus. *The ADS provides a number of grants and awards to its members to continue in supporting diabetes related research projects.
