About Australian Centre For Arts and Health Limited
The Australian Centre for Arts and Health (ACAH) is committed to promoting arts and cultural engagement to engender health and wellbeing within communities and for individuals. Our aim is to promote the prevention and control of chronic health conditions, especially mental health, through active participation in arts and creative programs and the distribution of relevant information and research data. ACAH was established as a small peak body for the arts, health, wellbeing and ageing sectors in 2014 and in particular has played a pivotal role in the development of the creating ageing field over the past decade. Participation in arts and health and ageing organisations in NSW has enabled the dissemination of informed content about best practice arts and health programs via online platforms, meetings, written submissions and symposiums. ACAH as an organisation has been impacted by bushfire and flood evacuations and COVID recovery which has opened up areas of enquiry about the impact of the environment on resilience, good mental health and community wellbeing. Supporting and showcasing artforms, including the visual arts, music theatre and dance, has been an important focus for ACAH.
