Australia/Israel & Jewish Affairs Council

Our organisation carried out the following activities in furtherance of our charitable purposes promoting reconciliation, mutual respect and tolerance between groups of individuals that are in Australia and advancing education: undertaking information, research and educational activities including producing regular commentary and analysis, establishing a visitor program that brings international speakers to events around Australia and New Zealand, sponsoring visits to lsrael by selected senior journalists, politicians and student leaders etc, establishing an educational forum for young professionals with a desire to get involved in education and community service, publishing a monthly and publishing a news and commentary service accessible by the general public as a vehicle to highlight and counteract instances of misinformation about the Australian and International Jewish community, Israel and related issues in the Australian media and wider public debate, promote efforts to further Australia's development as a tolerant and harmonious multicultural society and combat forms of extremism and fundamentalism, expose incidents of racism and antisemitism in Australia and online, raise awareness of issues associated with the Australian and lnternational Jewish community to government, media, and other community organisations and facilitate interfaith dialogue to increase understanding of lsrael and related issues and international human rights.
