ASAM supports the prevention and reduction of disease among the general public who travel by air, and the communities in which they live, through education, training and advancement of knowledge among health professionals engaged in the field. This is achieved through provision of scholarships to medical students and early career doctors wishing to study and practice in this field. Students and doctors are supported to conduct research, publish and present their findings, and learn about the field through ASAM s scientific meetings, position statements and other publications, and through the publishing of a peer reviewed journal containing latest research including that conducted under the Student Scholarship program.
