Armidale & Region Aboriginal Cultural Centre & Keeping Place Inc

As per our constitution the centre provided a cultural awareness and crosscultural learning facility throughout the New England region to improve relationships within the Aboriginal and wider communities, help, support and encourage Aboriginal people to restore and keep their culture and heritage and encourage other Aboriginal cultural activities, for mutual benefit. We preserved and developed the Centre as a place of learning, through the preservation and exhibition of Aboriginal performing and visual arts, research and record oral history in the New England region and assisted community arts and cultural groups. We provided a resource centre for Aboriginal History and sourced and maintained a number of collections of Objects of Cultural Heritage. Our conference centre provided a meeting place for community groups. community service providers, cultural events and training activities.
