The Social Sector Innovation Western Bay of Plenty Charitable Trust (SSIT), operating as SociaLink Tūhono Pāpori, was established in 2012 in response to a call from the wider network of social service providers and community organisations in the Western Bay of Plenty. The sector sought an umbrella organisation to strengthen capability and capacity, provide a collective voice, and ensure community groups are better connected to and more valued in both local government and national policy decision-making. Our vision: A thriving for-purpose sector grounded in mana ōrite, partnership and equity, enabling communities to flourish. Our purpose: To honour Te Tiriti by embedding Kaupapa Māori through our mahi and working in mana ōrite partnership. In this way, we build capability, confidence, impact and a united voice across the for-purpose sector, while upholding relationships with mana whenua and enabling equitable, intergenerational wellbeing.
