The purposes of the Belfast Bands Forum are: a) The advancement of arts, culture and heritage, in particular the musical and cultural traditions associated with bands in Belfast; b) The advancement of education, by providing music tuition, leadership training, personal development, and skills-based learning for children, young people and adults; c) The advancement of citizenship and community development, by promoting good relations, community cohesion, equality of opportunity and positive engagement across communities; d) The advancement of health, in particular mental health and wellbeing, through awareness programmes, peer support and partnership working; e) The relief of need and disadvantage, where appropriate, by supporting young people and individuals facing social, educational or economic disadvantage through structured programmes and opportunities.
