1. To enhance, preserve and protect endemic flora species and the biodiversity of the natural environment; 2. To provide free locally-sourced native plants for community groups to plant out and nurture in Tairawhiti, and also as a group, to actively restore public spaces through native revegetation; 3. To provide practical and advisory assistance with the planting, growing and care of native trees and plants; 4. To empower women, their families and communities through skill-sharing and environmental education; and 5. To honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi responsibilities and obligations by: a) providing on-going education for Trust members on Te Tiriti issues and b) working co-operatively with whanau, hapu, iwi and their kaitiaki.
