The Shine Relief Trust operates in the Traditional Authority (TA) of Kuntumanji in the Zomba District of Southern Malawi where a large percentage of the children are being cared for either by older siblings or by a solo parent. The role of Shine is to support orphans, widows and other vulnerable families through the provision of food, clothing, housing, healthcare, training and employment as well as the financial means to enable students to attend Secondary School and Tertiary Institutions. On land it purchased in Chilambe, Shine has built and operates two Children's Homes and an Early Learning Centre for Children aged 3 to 6 years. It conducts Ministry Outreach offering Pastoral and Health Care in the wider community. Additionally, it is developing Income Generating Projects (fish farming, chicken rearing, tomato and vegetable production, maize and rice mills) to ensure long term sustainability of the project and enable financial independence and security for families in the area.
