)”The Group” is established to • ( a) promote the benefit of the inhabitants of the town of Warrenpoint and surrounding area (herein after described as the area of benefit) without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race, political or religious or other opinions, by associating together the said inhabitants and the local authorities , voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education, including foreign languages , to provide for inhabitants of all ages, to preserve the environment and heritage of the area of benefit. • ( b) provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation, leisure, meeting rooms and all other community initiatives which fall within the remit and benefit of the community with the object of improving the quality of life for all the inhabitants and in raising awareness of all matters pertaining to the area of benefit and its citizens. • ( c) work with all groups from the commercial, voluntary sectors and elected representatives in Warrenpoint in furtherance of the needs of the citizens of the area of benefit and to develop awareness of the rich heritage of Warrenpoint and its surrounding area among firstly inhabitants and then visitors/tourists to the area.
