We're building a platform that helps charities be found and funded. It would be hypocritical not to practice what we preach.

That's why we're committing 10% of our profits to WWF to support the conservation of the Hawksbill Sea Turtle.

Why the Hawksbill Sea Turtle?

The Hawksbill is critically endangered. Fewer than 25,000 nesting females remain worldwide. They face threats from:

  • Illegal wildlife trade — Their beautiful shells are prized for jewelry and ornaments
  • Habitat loss — Coastal development destroys nesting beaches
  • Climate change — Rising temperatures affect sex ratios and nesting success
  • Plastic pollution — They mistake plastic bags for jellyfish, their primary food
  • Fishing bycatch — Accidental capture in fishing nets

Guardians of the Reef

Hawksbills aren't just beautiful—they're essential to ocean health. They're the only sea turtle species that primarily eats sponges. By controlling sponge populations, they prevent sponges from suffocating coral reefs.

Without Hawksbills, coral reefs suffer. And coral reefs support 25% of all marine life despite covering less than 1% of the ocean floor.

Hawksbills have existed for 100 million years. They survived the extinction event that killed the dinosaurs. They're indicator species—when they thrive, ocean ecosystems are healthy.

Why WWF?

WWF has been protecting sea turtles for over 50 years. Their work includes:

  • Nesting beach protection — Securing critical nesting sites
  • Bycatch reduction — Working with fisheries to reduce accidental capture
  • Combating illegal trade — Enforcement and awareness campaigns
  • Climate adaptation research — Understanding and mitigating climate impacts
  • Community engagement — Working with local communities who share turtle habitats

WWF's approach is comprehensive, science-based, and proven. They're the right partner for this commitment.

Our Commitment

Starting from our first profitable quarter, 10% of Charity Global's profits will go directly to WWF's sea turtle conservation programmes.

Not revenue. Profits. We're putting our money where our mission is.

We'll publish annual transparency reports showing:

  • Total profits for the year
  • Amount donated to WWF
  • Specific programmes supported
  • Conservation outcomes achieved

Transparency matters. If we're asking charities to be transparent, we need to be transparent too.

Why This Matters to Our Mission

The Hawksbill represents everything we believe in:

Urgency — They're critically endangered. Action is needed now.
Impact — Conservation efforts work. Hawksbill populations can recover with protection.
Transparency — WWF publishes detailed reports on their conservation work.
Global thinking — Hawksbills migrate across oceans. Their protection requires international cooperation.

These are the same principles that drive Charity Global: urgent action, measurable impact, radical transparency, and global reach.

How You Can Help

You don't need to wait for us to be profitable to make a difference:

Donate directly — Visit worldwildlife.org/species/hawksbill-turtle to support WWF's sea turtle conservation.

Reduce plastic use — Every piece of plastic you don't use is one less threat to sea turtles.

Spread awareness — Share this post. Talk about the Hawksbill. The more people who care, the more likely we are to save them.

A Beautiful, Dignified Creature

The Hawksbill Sea Turtle is beautiful. Dignified. Ancient. Essential.

They deserve our protection. And we're committed to providing it.

10% of Charity Global's profits are donated to WWF to support Hawksbill Sea Turtle conservation.

Always.
