We're building a platform that helps charities be found and funded. It would be hypocritical not to practice what we preach.
That's why we're committing 10% of our profits to WWF to support the protection of the Hawksbill Sea Turtle.
Why the Hawksbill?
The Hawksbill Sea Turtle is critically endangered. Fewer than 25,000 nesting females remain worldwide. Their population has declined by over 80% in the last century.
They face threats from:
- Illegal wildlife trade — Their shells are sold as "tortoiseshell" products
- Habitat loss — Coastal development destroys nesting beaches
- Climate change — Rising temperatures affect egg development
- Plastic pollution — They mistake plastic for jellyfish
- Fishing bycatch — They become trapped in nets
What Makes Them Special
Coral Reef Guardians
Hawksbills eat sponges that would otherwise suffocate coral reefs. A single turtle consumes over 500kg of sponges per year.
Ancient Survivors
Sea turtles have existed for over 100 million years. They survived the dinosaur extinction.
Indicator Species
Healthy turtle populations indicate healthy oceans.
Why WWF?
WWF has protected sea turtles for over 50 years:
- Protecting nesting beaches across the Caribbean, Pacific, and Indian Oceans
- Reducing bycatch through work with fishing communities
- Combating illegal trade
- Climate adaptation research
Our Commitment
Starting from our first profitable quarter, 10% of Charity Global's profits go directly to WWF's sea turtle conservation.
We'll publish annual reports showing our profit figures, amounts donated, and conservation impact. Transparency matters.
Why This Matters
The Hawksbill represents everything we believe in:
- Urgency — Some problems can't wait
- Impact — Targeted action can save a species
- Transparency — Conservation requires accountability
- Global thinking — Turtles don't respect borders; neither should giving
